Today we got up in The Days Inn and had breakfast. Whilst we were down there a family headed straight over to me and gave me a part used gas canister and a new bear spray. They could not take it on their flight, but we must look (or smell) like travellers for them to head straight over.
To be truthful because of the generosity of the Warmshowers platform, campground facilities and motels we can clean up quite well in between the rustic camping.
The hotel had a real moose’s head on the wall so it seemed fitting to have a picture of our moose (bike) in front of it. But looking back it was very insensitive of us (so sorry Moose).

The run into Kimberley was straight forward we needed an easier day as tomorrow we have a massive pass to go over. It is going to be a very big day in miles and altitude. Everyone is impressed we are going over Grey Creek Pass. The trail to Kimberley was all tarmac just for walking and bicycles. We got chatting to loads of people that are interested in our journey. There were loads of seating areas offering some nice views of the valley below. As I was riding along I was imagining a train doing the route with steam coming out of the chimney.

There were quite a lot of deer on the trail.

When we got into Kimberley we had our lunch on a bench and looked around some shops. I ended up buying a satellite communicator to be extra safe as fires are cropping up every where and it is always best to have the added insurance. Always best to be as safe as you can be.
You won’t believe how many people come up and chat to us because 1) we are travelling by bike and 2) because it is a tandem. It must of been about twenty people today. While one person was chatting to us another would come over. During one of our conversations someone even commented that we must find it difficult to get anything done with the amount of people that want to discuss the setup.
We arranged another Warmshowers host for our stay in Kimberley. The couples names are Patrick and Steph. We have our tent in their lovely garden, we had showers in their lovely home and they made a beautiful meal that we ate in the sun.
After the meal we got in the hot tub, again all preparation for our big day tomorrow.

They are an amazing couple and they gave us some ace information about our ride tomorrow.
